Learning Technology Research Institute (LTRI) - London Metropolitan University
The LTRI conducts research into the application of information and communication technologies to augment, support and transform learning. There are three overarching research themes. The "Learning interaction & networked communities" theme focuses on the nature of effective learning dialogue and interaction, with an emphasis on the development of software tools to support effective online dialogue. The "Informal eLearning" theme studies the processes and impact of eLearning in informal settings. |

It extends the communities studied by the Institute beyond the domains of university, college and school. We also carry out extensive work on "Learning objects & learning design". This includes innovative design, development and extensive evaluation, including a two-year project with over 1000 students. During the Labs event we demonstrated examples of these Web based objects. At present we are extending this work to develop mobile versions of these multimedia learning objects. For more info see http://www.londonmet.ac.uk/ltri/research/research.htm
